2013 MOVEMENT Electronic Music Festival

Movement Electronic Music Festival day 2 had great weather. Day 3 was a completely different story with nonstop rain all day. But rain never seems to stop a Detroit festival it just adds the the energy. But it does mean people started wearing poncho’s and rain jackets instead of those crazy outfits. It also greatly impaired taking photos of the acts.

Day 2:

Beatport Stage– Annie Hall, Bill Patrick, Soul Clap, Art Department, Dennis Ferrer.

Electric Forest stage– K@dog, J. Phil, Milkman, Amtrac, Samo Sound Boy, Big Chocolate, Gesaffelstein, Brodinsti. Redbull stage– Calico, DJ Hatcha, Mala, Adult, Dubfire, Audion, Stacy Pullen, Squarepusher. Made in Detroit stage– Dan Wagner, Stone Owl, Midnite Jackers, Jason Kendig, DJ Minx ft. Diviniti & Eve Soul, Magda, Daniel Bell. Underground stage– Benjamin Damage, Deadbeat, Gregor Tresher, Tommy Four Seven, Ben Klok b2b Marcel Dettmann, Luke Slater/ Planetary Assault Systems, Steve Rachmad.

Day 3:

Beatport Stage– Phantasmagoria, Laura Jones, Matt Tolfrey, George Fitzgerald, Ellen Allen, Cajmere, Maetrik, John Digweed. Electric Forest stage– Circa Tapes, Deastro, Kidnap Kid, A Tribe Called Red, The M Machine, Break Science, Paper Diamond, Gramatik, GRIZ, Big Gigantic. Redbull stage– Nick Hook, Dabrye, TOKIMONSTA, Azari & III, Nicolas Jaar, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Francois K, Derrick May & Kevin Saunderson (the HI-Tech Soul Concept). Made in Detroit stage– Corbin Davis, Dantiez Saunderson, Carlos Soulfront, Erika, Don Dada (DJ Godfather & DJ Zebo), Ryan Ellott, Buzz Goree, Reference. Underground stage– Brendon Moeller aka Echologist, Mike Parker, Rrose, Drumcell, Truncate, Silent Servant, DVS1.

MOVEMENT Electronic Music Festival is an event not to be miss which brings people from around the world. If you love electronic music mark the calendar for next years event. Make sure to book a hotel far ahead of time because they fill up quickly. And remember when visiting Detroit… ” ain’t no party like a detroit party, cause a detroit party doesn’t stop!“.  There are plenty of pre, nightly, and post parties and concerts to go to around the city so plan to come early and stay late.
